Richard was born in Lebanon, Indiana in 1963. He became interested in boxing when he was 10 years old, and the advice his grandfather gave him then, has always stuck with him.

"Believe in yourself and never give up on your dreams"

Richard took those words to heart and, at the age of 14, he started his boxing career. He trained at the American Legion Boxing Club in Frankton, Indiana and won the Kokomo Invitational Tournament shortly after starting. In 1979, when he was only 16, he won the Indiana Silver Gloves 139lb Division State Championship.
​
In 1980, Richard joined the Army and was soon posted at Bamberg Army Base in Germany; there, he mentored kids at the youth center. He was later stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado where he trained boxers there.
He could have went Pro if not for changing priorties and an injury sustained during a fight.
​
In 1985, Richard had two children and he met Pearl. The fight that ruined his chances for a professional career was in 1987, when his opponent took out his knee.
​
In 1999, Richard and Pearl married and became a family. Pearl has been been by his side as he makes the goal of open a boxing gym as reality.
​
Richard's record over his 20+ year career: 56 Wins, 4 Losses, and 31 KOs.

Jeremiah was born in Darmstadt,Germany in 1989, while his father was stationed there. Jeremiah has always been into sports from soccer to cross country at Mena High School. He got into MMA while in the Army. He got his love of fighting from his father who was also a boxer. Jeremiah is pursuing his love of combat sports in MMA Wrestling and Boxing. When his father wanted to open the Defender's Boxing Club, Jeremiah was a perfect fit to be a co-trainer along side his father. Jeremiah loves working with kids and adults and teaching them the arts of combat sports. He is a USA Boxing certified coach.

His record is currently 1-3 in MMA.
